The heart of Connaught place is one of the major food hubs in the capital, CP has been attracting Youngsters, Business person for Business meeting, lovebirds on the lookout for a cool hangout joint and of course and some serious food connoisseurs.
it is often a big task to find out a good place to eat and chill out with some good music thrown in.
Finally, we were referred Ardor by a foodie connoisseurs and we joined this amazing place to have a good time eating out during the weekend. Ardor, is a 2 year old standalone fine dining restaurant at its level one while lounge and bar at its level two it has a very beautiful terrace too having a capacity of 275+ overall. With quintessential English interiors, ‘Ardor’ reflects an old Victorian’s era charm. We were politely welcomed by the staff inside and they offer a sitting space just above to bar to enjoy our meal later we were shifted to its fine dining restaurant to enjoy the main course.
Of the Drink’ menu, we ordered quickly few drinks to kill the heat, Ferraro Rocher shake, Summer Breeze and Avalance, to begin with. The servers were flying in taking orders and in no time our drink were put on our table. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks, Meanwhile we have ordered few starters Rajma Ki Tikki, Dahi Ke Kabab, Club Sandwiches, Spinach and Corn Cheese Ball, Ardor Special Sizzler, in which Prawn were disappointed with starter meal, Summer Breeze proved to be a good accompaniment with the grub. However, the Dahi ke Kebab could have tasted better.
Thereafter, we were shifted to its first floor where we ordered the main course – Both Thai curries i.e. Red and Green Curry, Daal Makhni (Daal Ardor), Bhuna Gosht , Kadai Chicken with Steamed Rice, Chicken Biryani and Indian Breads( Naan, Parantha). There goes a saying that the food is first devoured by the eyes and then by the mouth. At ‘Ardor’, the Chefs completely swear by this old adage. Both Thai curries, the Green curry and red curry were strong flavored and had a lovely aroma wafting out of it, Bhuna Gosht and Kadahi Chicken were mildly spiced. The portion of dishes was quantitative.
To end our culinary snuggle on a sweet note, we asked the serving staff to serve some their special dessert and he served matka kulfi, Gulab Jamun and walnut brownie with ice-cream.
Verdict: Ardor is a great place for everyone. If your idea is to dine amidst quiet surroundings, check-out to its restaurant area. Else go to the lounge area for a good dose of fun with great music, drinks and grub thrown in. it is Perfect place for Business meeting at its terrace zone but in the evening. Restaurant and lounge, both are equipped with TV screen for IPL seasons. Staffs were very courteous and catered everyone with smile. My rating is 4/5
