The idea of café bar and lounge isn’t exactly new in the Satyaniketan . However, when Ex Employee of Wipro Shivang Gupta, and his other three friends worked on the Shivang’s ambition of restro business, But at the end he had found their entrepreneurial opening. Thus, Talab Cafe, a joint was born in 2009 and now today 2 Bandits is his 21th opening which is exactly a year old in Satyaniketan.
“We have introduced heart shaped Pizza in the region, read and dips without any artificial flavours, colours or preservatives under the expert supervision of expert chef 69 year old Mr. Kushal Arora (he has long culinary experience with Oberoi Hotel at Dubai), all are product are prepared in their Kitchen, we also believe in top notch hygiene environment & Quality” says Co-Founder Shivang.
2 Bandit Name: 29 year old Shivang says (while laughing), it is fun name of another co –founder of Gaurav Gupta , we used to make fun with “Daaku” and when two daaku meets for known reason i.e. restaurant business and we have given a name to it “2 Bandits”, He added.
While they had an idea in place, Shivang Gupta and his friends were entering an unknown terrain. According to Shivang, himself he has been very passionate about food niche. “I distinctly remember how we managed to get his first outlet Talab Cafe in 2009” he says.
The next challenge was pricing and Quality. Gaurav says it was crucial for his joint to keep the price fair and quantity should be qualitative, he agrees there is lot of possibility in the Satyaniketan being a campus zone.
Traction and Growth
His 21st got a shape in May 2015, at Satyaniketan , has been receiving positive response since. Shivang says they got variable response in the very first month of operations. Since then, they claim to have seen a growing group of returning customers on average 300 on weekday and 600 on weekends.
“All growth and traction has been purely organic and without any direct marketing overtures, I stand outside the restro to convince in his own style”.
Outlet and Ambience
Outlet is small and can accommodate up-to 30-40 people, with fusion art work on their wall. Sitting are comfortable and server were courteous and very attentive.
We have tried Dancing Nachos, Classic Veg Nachos, Mushroom Kurkare, Veg lasagna, chily garlic noodles, Texan Fries, Mazze Platter, Heart Shaped Thin crust pizza and Paneer Sheesha Taouk and in Mocktails, kit kat shakes, oreo Shakes, virgin Mojito and virgin sex on the beach. these food become the staple food in all café. But we detect the slightly change in the taste.
We ended our Journey with spoonful of Dessert, we picked –the volcano- Walnut browine with served with vanilla ice-cream.
Verdict: It was decently priced, quality was good. Taste was superb. My Rating 4 /5
